Chora

7 km from Loutra, Chora or Mesaria, with its intense Cycladic color and authentic island atmosphere, is the capital of Kythnos, and is amphitheatrically built on the slope of a hill. Discover small squares, picturesque cobbled streets, white houses with colored doors and windows, stairs, arches, windmills and churches with special architecture and decoration. Here you will also find traditional restaurants, cafes, patisseries and shops.

Walk in Chora:

– Iroos, at the entrance of the Country.

– The church of Agios Savvas, from the 17th century, with the remarkable wood-carved iconostasis.

– The Church of the Transfiguration of the Saviour, with the iconostasis of the 17th century, and in the church of Agia Triada, which is the oldest of the island, with ancient pieces of sculpture with inscriptions.

In the settlement with a long tradition in ceramic art, you will find old churches, beautiful little squares, picturesque alleys and arches. Here are also the Byzantine Museum, the Folklore Museum, the Fallen Memorial and the Katafyki Cave.

In Merichas you will find the marina where the boats are moored, the Port, a bus and taxi stop, shops, and Martinakia beach in a small distance.
